Church St Helens – Caring for God’s Creation Together
Our Churches and Communities
Our 11 churches and communities across Church St Helens are committed to caring for God’s creation as an expression of our Christian faith, worship, and mission.
We recognise the climate and nature crisis, and the deep injustices they represent. As part of our calling, we affirm that:
- Creation care and action to address environmental crises are integral to Christian faith, life, and worship.
- We are called to manage our land, buildings, and resources in ways that reflect God’s love for all creation.
- Our response must be local, national, and global, with particular attention to climate injustice.
- Caring for creation is an act of worship and a vital expression of our discipleship.
You will find a warm welcome at all our 11 churches, each with a heart to bring the hope of Jesus to the communities we serve.
Every church is working towards Bronze, then Silver, and ultimately Gold through A Rocha UK’s Eco Church framework.

Our Commitment
At Church St Helens, a Church of England congregation, we align with the General Synod’s resolution (February 2020) to work towards achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
To put this into practice, we will:
- Follow our Net Zero Action Plan, reviewing and updating it regularly.
- Measure and reduce our carbon footprint year on year.
- Seek to honour the Fifth Mark of Mission: “To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.”
